What a visit costs

A single adult entry in Tashkent runs from 60 000 UZS to 700 000 UZS, with a typical price around 180 000 UZS. The upper end is hotel pools, where the fee covers the lounge area, towels and service. Sport pools and swimming schools are cheaper but usually sell monthly memberships rather than single entries. One venue works differently: at Malibu Sun Club entry to the water is free and you pay only for a sunbed or table. Prices are published by 37 of 41 venues; for the rest, the phone number is on the pool's page.

Year-round or summer only

20 of the 41 pools are seasonal, opening in May and closing in September. The other 21 operate year-round: indoor sport complexes, swimming schools, and pools at hotels and fitness clubs. If you are looking for somewhere to swim in winter, the season filter on this page removes the summer venues straight away.

By district

Pools are spread unevenly across the city: Yunusabad (7), Mirzo-Ulugbek (6), Mirabad (5), Sergeli (5), Bektemir (4), Chilanzar (4), Yashnabad (4), Shayhontohur (3), Yakkasaray (3). The largest cluster is in Yunusabad. Every district has its own page with a list and a map, which makes it easier to find something close to home or work.

What to check before you go

• Parking — available at 34 of 41 pools. In busy districts such as Mirobod this matters.
• On-site cafe or restaurant — at 22 venues. Worth checking if you plan to stay all day.
• Children's area — at 22 pools. A separate shallow basin is safer than the shallow end of a main pool.
• Coach or classes — at 19 venues, including swimming schools with groups for children and adults.
• Sauna — at 7 pools, most often in indoor complexes and hotels.
